Rockford Public Library Cricut Workshop

Twelve ladies attended the December vinyl workshop at the Rockford Public Library. There is a learning curve to working with vinyl. We created a snowflake design on a glass cylinder, a glass etching on a square votive, and personalized a glass ornament. These ladies are so terrific because they are willing to learn, help others, and just plain fun! The next workshop is February 11th where we will make a LOVE banner, similar to the one in the picture. Lots of creating with our Cricuts!

November Christmas Cards Workshop

Here are 5 new card designs made at the last workshop. The stamps are new and available in wood mounted or rubber in the cling mount. Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive are my favorite holiday colors.

World Card Making Day

Today is World Card Making Day and I did a card workshop at the Blue Orchid and met some other paper-loving people there. I had four cards to choose from to do a make-n-take. Debbie Miller (on right) stopped by to make a card. She is the card Diva of motion cards. Here's a shot of her three cards. Marilyn Rice  (on left) stopped by and made a card. She was the ER nurse consulted during the making of the hit show, ER, on TV. So cool to finally meet her. She was featured in the Freeport Journal Standard.

Sock Monkey

Sock Monkey stamp sets are retired now so I had to order the three cute sets. Here is a Thank you and Birthday card made with this adorable set. We are really partial to the Sock Monkey due to the original socks were made in Rockford and the Socky Monkey is the city's mascot. Midway Village Museum has a section devoted to the history of the Sock Monkey. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

Explosion Box

Requests to make an Explosion Box were granted on Saturday. It took some time but I think the results were well worth it! Stampin' Up! Sweet Summer paper used. Happy Birthday words cut on the Cricut with Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. This could easily be adapted to Baby, Wedding, or any personalization. It required 3 12 x 12 papers, ribbon, and some punches.

25th Anniversary Card

Learning to up-cycle by using pop cans die cut and embossed for this 25th Anniversary card for good friends, John and Debbie Hartman. We had a wonderful time at Baracci's in Madison.

Granddaughters' Birthday Cards

Isabelle is turning 5 on May 2nd.
Zoey is turning 1 on May 14. Her birthday theme is Lady Bugs.
I used Kate's ABC's cartridge to make birthday cards for my granddaughters in Michigan. Lots of layers but oh, such cute results!

Build a Blossom Birthdays

A good friend of mine has her birthday celebration this Friday, so I made a Build-a-Blossom in pink and black for her. The 2nd card is another one with the same Blossom punch. I love the possibilities with this punch and stamp set.

2011 Graduation Cards

I sell cards at It's Just Between Friends Co-op in Durand and these graduation cards are created with Durand High School colors of Royal Blue and White and their mascot the Bulldog. I need to make some for Dakota grads as well. I just need to find a good Indian mascot.

Fabulous Florets

Fabulous Florets is a new stamp set from Stampin' Up! I used Rose Red for the flowers, fussy cut them out and layered over the leaf and stem. I paired it with Wild Wasabi and dry embossed the card base with the Tulip folder and pin dots. Spring is definitely here!

Red Hat Ladies Card

A group of Red Hat Ladies are meeting up in Durand on May 4 for a day at the It's Just Between Friends Co-op. I made a card with Cricut's Kate's ABC's cartridge just for these ladies. If you have any young girls in your family, you will love this cartridge as it's all things girls.

Emboss Resist with Vintage Vogue

This card came together quickly by embossing in white two flowers from Vintage Vogue. Sponge inked with Baja Blue around the flowers. Stamped smaller flowers in Baja Blue and then stamped vines in Pacific Point. The Big Shot was used to dry emboss the pin dots. This technique was found on Dawn Griffith's Stampin' with Dawn.

More Build a Blossom Cards

A few more cards made  with the Build a Blossom punch. I inked the edges of the petals with a   sponge dauber, then shaped the petals with a bone folder. I used Rose Red ink on Pink Pirouette paper from Stampin' Up!

Lady Bug Birthday Banner and Streamers

My granddaughter, Zoey, is having her first birthday in May up in MIchigan. Her theme is 'Lady Bug Picnic'. I love lady bugs and I hope she and her parents like this banner and streamers I made for her. I used Cricut Just Because Cards for the Lady Bug and Nursery Rhymes for the font.

Painted cards with White Embossing

Good friend Pam came down from Madison and showed me a new technique. The stamp is embossed in white and then hand painted with H2O Paints. It was fun trying this new technique!
